This IFM is a Modbus interface module, and it is part of EnerlinX communication system. It is required for connection of MasterPacT, ComPacT and PowerPacT circuit breakers to a Modbus Serial Line network. Once connected, the circuit breaker is considered as a slave by the Modbus master. The Modbus address is easily set with two rotary switches on its front face. It is equipped on the top with one 24VDC screw clamp terminal block and one RJ45 socket for Modbus Serial line. It is equipped on the bottom with two RJ45 sockets for ULP internal network connection (Universal Logic Plug). The IFM interface is a DIN rail mounting device and its dimensions are 18mm x 72mm x 96mm. The protection degree is IP4x on the front face and IP2x on the connectors. The IFM interface is entirely part of the EcoStruxure Power architecture. The IFM interface firmware can be updated using EcoStruxure Power Commission software.
