A FAMILY ATMOSPHERE, A FAMILY OF ASSOCIATES
Mayer’s rich history dates back to our beginnings in 1930 in Birmingham, Alabama. A story of hard work, perseverance, opportunity and hope that spans nine decades, Mayer's larger narrative isn't just about the company – it's a compilation of the individual stories of all our Associates over the years.
Our story is built around our core values of Ethical Behavior, Concern for People, Professionalism, Continuous Quality Improvement, Hard Work, Complete Customer Satisfaction, and Learning and Personal Growth. Our Associates embody those values and are a crucial piece of our rich history, each playing a role in Mayer’s bright future by enriching and enhancing our company. Continuing Education Program
All full-time associates with more than one year of continuous service are eligible for a no-interest forgivable loan to cover the cost of college level or post-graduate coursework. The plan pays 100% of all tuition and fees for Associates attending school part-time and based on the cost of equivalent courses at a state–supported educational institution. Upon satisfactory completion of the course(s), and the Associate remaining employed with Mayer for the succeeding 24 months, the loan is forgiven. The plan also pays for expenses associated with your professional development. Approval of selected school and course work is required, and reimbursement is subject to IRS limits.
Network of Emerging Rexel Talent
The Network of Emerging Rexel Talent (NExT) is an annual co-hort of Associates nominated by their managers and invited by the senior leadership team to participate in additional leadership training. NExT participants learn not only about leadership principles and competencies, but also undergo a process of self-evaluation and self-discovery while participating in projects outside their daily job duties. NExT participants engage in both group and individual development activities while being mentored in their career journeys.
