They’re used for factory installation on steel or brass tabs (UL and CSA), and they’re used for field application on brass tabs (UL only), though strain relief is required. The female disconnects connect permanently to the pre-stripped ends of stranded copper wires. The vinyl-insulated disconnects are used for field and factory wiring applications (UL recognized strain relief is required).
