This device is an optional module for advanced meter that provide 4-wire RS-485 connectivity, converted from the onboard 2-wire RS-485 port. The 4-wire RS-485 makes the replacement and retrofitting of legacy 4-wire systems convenient by adding a 4-wire RS-485 serial port to our Advanced Meters. The module is directly powered from the base meter. This module converts onboard 2-wire port to 4-wire serial port, thus offer more options to connect device to serial networks. It supports pluggable screw terminal connector input. Once the option module is installed on the meter, the on board 2-wire serial port is disabled for the compatible meter. Only 1 4-wire RS-485 module is supported per meter. The dimensions are 22 mm in width, 100.2 mm in height 90.5 mm, 90.5mm in depth 90.5 mm and 102.33 g in weight: 92.65 g. This module hooks itself up to the meter's option bus which has a capacity of maximum one 4-wire RS-485 module plus 3 other options. Single unit in the packet. Compatible with PowerLogic Advanced Metering range (ION7400, PM8000, and ION9000).
