This braking resistor is an option for variable speed drives of the Altivar range and servo drives of the Lexium range. It dissipates the braking energy and enables maximum transient braking torque. It has an Ohmic value of 100Ohms at 20°C, and its protection index is IP20. The braking resistor continuous power is 1000W. Its protection index is IP20. It weighs 11kg and its dimensions are, 240mm wide, 484mm high, and 301mm deep. This resistor is designed to be mounted on the outside of the enclosure, but should not inhibit natural cooling, air inlets and outlets must not be obstructed in any way.
