This software license is part of the EcoStruxure Control Engineering range, a set of software engineering tools for industrial automation, compatible with Schneider Electric and third-party PLCs and PACs. EcoStruxure Control Engineering - Documentation, formerly PLC DocGen, is a reverse-engineering tool that generates an abstract representation of the program directly from the source code. CEGDOC4MPT is a pilot project license giving access to unlimited runs of the tool on one program for a period of 4 months. The tool enables users to generate an up-to-date abstract representation of the program information based on what is contained in the source code for quick understanding. This tool is a Software as a Service (SaaS) application and supports the five IEC 61131-3 languages and different types of PLC makes and models providing users one tool to use even with mixed installed bases. It is a cloud-based application that can be accessed from anywhere through a simple web browser and user login, meaning no installation required. A private server option is also available for users with strict security constraints. This software tool is intended for end users, system integrators, and original equipment manufacturers from any industrial sector, such as automotive, energy, food and beverage, packaging, water wastewater, manufacturing, infrastructure. The tool supports many PLC program types, including from EcoStruxure Control Expert and EcoStruxure Machine Expert, as well as from many other vendors. It helps improve productivity when it comes to managing the control software lifecycle, and thus helps reduce engineering time and costs during development and/or maintenance of the control applications. This tool based on GLIPS technology brings in software engineering techniques from IT and embedded software to industrial automation for formalized development process like increased productivity, quality, efficiency, maintainability.
