Mayer Electric Supply recently promoted Charles A. (Charlie) Collat, Jr. to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. The COO position at Mayer is new and Charlie will take on new responsibilities in addition to his former responsibilities involving Quality and Training.
The new COO role will involve company-wide initiatives to identify, implement and institutionalize best-in-class processes for customer service delivery and profit maximization, elimination of systemic obstacles to performance excellence, benchmarking new and innovative distribution practices, and for implementing key process measurements to drive cycle time reduction and process efficiency.
Charlie’s career at Mayer has been a lifetime in the making, having grown up in the industry and at Mayer. After graduating from the University of Alabama in 1990, Charlie worked as a Mayer Sales Trainee before joining General Electric where he spent two years in customer service. Charlie is a graduate of Mayer’s Management Development Program and has done extensive work with Six Sigma Quality Management teams. In addition to this experience, Charlie has worked in the areas of Automation Sales, Supplier Partnership Services, Counter Sales Management, Information Technology, Quality Improvement, and Training.
